The three program phases are all intense (i.e., 100% support) agile sprints that include all building block activities (not to be confused with the services) denoted by their number 1, 2 or 3 at the bottom row in the above figure. After every phase, the strategic plans are (re)evaluated until they sufficiently integrate the possibilities of technology, the requirements for business success, and the needs of people. This results in desirable product (goods and services) innovations and engaging change measures that drive performance and growth. The first phase takes 5 weeks with 200 hours of our support and delivers inspiring, purposeful, and actionable competitive strategies. The second phase takes 5 weeks with 200 hours of our support and delivers engaging and realistic innovation and change project portfolios. The third phase takes 6 weeks with 240 hours of our support and delivers top performance and sustainable growth.
The last phase ends with a four-week period to finalize project implementations, monitor performance and growth objectives, and evaluate the capabilities to be further strengthened for competitive advantage.
The program lasts approximately 16 weeks and requires 640 hours (100%) of our support to maintain focus, sense of urgency and momentum. Selected leaders will need to spend 640 hours to build on the firm's capabilities for competitive advantage.
The 1.2.3.Sprint! service aims to deliver top performance and sustainable growth in one hundred days by bringing focus, sense of urgency, and momentum. We make the competitive strategies inspiring, purposeful, and actionable by following the design thinking principles in our journey through a top-down and bottom-up approach with an intense agile sprint that synergizes the bundled building block activities.. Similarly, we make the innovation and change portfolios engaging and realistic using this approach. The 1.2.3. All-in service follows the program phases of a traditional top-down strategic process and, consequently, does not synergize the activities. This yields a longer lead time, higher service costs, and more management time of the selected leaders in the program than in the 1.2.3. Sprint! service. The 1.2.3. Sprint! service reduces the lead time for delivery as compared to 1.2.3. All-in by 43% from 28 to 16 weeks (without slack time). The time needed for support reduces by 33% from 960 hours to 640 hours, which makes the 1.2.3. Sprint! service intense (no idle time) but very cost-effective. The top-down and bottom-up approach aims to deliver desirable product innovations and engaging change measures that drive performance and growth and repair the high failure rate (between 70% and 90%) of traditionally managed innovation and change programs. The costs of this approach are 640 hours of support and an equal amount of management time from the selected leaders in the program, who gain in return superior leadership capabilities to drive performance and sustainable growth. The risk of any agile sprint is, however, scope creep which makes the achievement of the strategic goals in the 1.2.3. Sprint! service less solid than in the 1.2.3. All-in service.
